How to choose a correct Domain Name

How to choose a correct Domain Name

Choose Domain name wisely You all must know the purpose of a domain name but what purpose does a good quality domain name serve? Well the answer is simple. It drives quality traffic to your site thus increasing your sites popularity as well as search engine ranking. To avail a quality domain name following tips would be helpful.

• Short domain name: I personally recoomend you to keep your domain names short because longer domain names are difficult to spell & remember. With little bit of creative thinking you surely could come up with one.

• Use of keywords: Keywords as well as the name of your company could be used as domain name. This would increase search engine ranking for your website, so it’s a Plus point :)

• Reputable registration companies: You should look for an accredited company which would not just provide you with alternative option for domain name but at the same time clarify you about the availability or non availability of a domain name, few famous and renawed Domain Company are: Godaddy and 1and1

• Quick registration: Since every second sixty domain names are registered it is advisable that you register as soon as you select an appropriate domain name.

• If you can afford it then you should also buy plural versions and hyphenated versions of your domain name.

• Also put it on so that the payment auto-renews, you don’t want to lose it because you forgot to renew it.

Google won the domain name case against an Indian guy Mr. Harit Shah from Gujrat, India. Last year, 25th Sep 2008,  Harit Shah booked a domain http://www.googblog.com, but when google got the news of that url, they file a case against Harit Shah that this domain contains their registered name.

Google

To get the rights of the blogsite registered in the name of Herit Shah from Surendranagar, Google had moved the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), a specialised agency of the United Nations, on March 26, 2009.

Mr. Harit Shah Said “I was in a bad faith that I can legally keep the domain googblog.com. I really did very unfair to Google. I sincerely apologize to Google for infringement by misusing their intellectual property.”

Herit, the son of a bank clerk, said he has already started the process to transfer the ownership of the domain name.

Microsoft New Search Engine – BING

Microsoft Launches New Search Engine called BING

This new search engine – BING is available to American users from today, 3 June 2009, and UK users should have access to a beta version.

You can access Micrsofot New Search Engine here www.bing.com

Bing Search Engine

The new search engine has a number of innovative features, the main one being what Microsoft calls the Explorer pane on the left hand side. When you search for things, the Explorer pane finds results for related searches. This should be a big help for less experienced searches who aren’t adept at querying search engines.

Bing.com looks very different from Google, with a picture on its home page that will be updated daily, and the site also suggests more specific refinements to users’ queries. Once results have been displayed, a column on the left hand side suggests further related searches.
