I am working on a website called The Journeys Project from last 6 months. This domain is just 10 month old and got 4 Page Rank. So how this website got 4 Page Rank within 10 month with the help of Link Exchange. I will reveal this secret in my next post but there are other factors which should be avoid while doing link building. If you’ve done any research into search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, you know that one of the most important keys to getting good placement in search engines is to get other websites to link to your site.
The simple fact is that backlinks will give you a high page rank and a high page rank will rank you higher in the SERP’s.
Linking From Non-Indexed Sites
Most people who spend hours building those free backlinks make the mistake of building links on non-indexed sites. For your back links to count, the page on which you have your link has to be indexed. Having links on non-indexed pages means nothing. It’s a waste of time.
Not Using Anchor Text
At first this probably won’t sound too scary, but if you build 2,000 links without relevant anchor text your site can easily pass for a spam site that just gets random links. By using anchor text that is related to your site, it gives your links linkjuice - meaning it makes your links relevant and increases the perceived value of each link.
NoFollow Tags
Many website forums and blogs use nofollow tags to tell the search engine bots not to “follow” the links listed on that page. When the spiders don’t follow the link, the link does you no good. The SEO plug-in for Mozilla Firefox enables you to see whether a link is nofollow or not instantly.
Check your Back Link once in a Month
Once you’ve completed your link exchange and done the checks to ensure you’re not being cheated you must then check your links at regular intervals. Once you have more than about 50 links you will soon find link checking becomes a time consuming process. It’s far better to build your link directory using some form of link manager software that will automatically check your links at intervals you specify.
